Transit Community Outreach Retreat Pax
Connecting Communities with Essential Health & Human Services
The Cabot Specialty Vehicles Community Outreach Retreat Pax is a purpose-built mobile office and service center designed to bring critical social, medical, and community resources directly to the people who need them most. Built on the dependable Ford Transit platform, this innovative mobile solution enables organizations to extend their reach beyond traditional facilities and deliver compassionate, accessible services in neighborhoods, schools, shelters, rural communities, and disaster response locations.
Designed to comfortably transport up to six outreach professionals, the vehicle serves as a fully functional field office where case managers, social workers, nurses, counselors, and outreach coordinators can work efficiently throughout the day.
A private consultation room provides a confidential space for one-on-one conversations, allowing staff to conduct benefit enrollment, client assessments, crisis intervention, mental health counseling, healthcare navigation, and financial assistance consultations with dignity and privacy.
A hallmark of the Cabot design is its low-entry clinic door, making it easy for seniors, families, individuals with disabilities, and anyone with limited mobility to comfortably access services. This welcoming entrance creates an inviting environment that removes barriers to care while improving accessibility for every client.
To support full-day operations without relying on shore power or a generator, the van features Cabot’s advanced Battery+ All-Day Power System. The integrated battery system provides quiet, emission-free power for lighting, HVAC, computers, communications equipment, refrigeration, and charging stations, allowing outreach teams to remain productive and comfortable throughout the day in the field.
The interior also includes thoughtfully integrated amenities that maximize functionality within a compact footprint, including:
- Comfortable transportation for six outreach staff
- Private client consultation room
- Accessible clinic entrance with low-step entry
- Space-saving dry flush toilet
- Refrigerator for beverages and temperature-sensitive supplies
- Abundant storage for educational materials, PPE, forms, and outreach resources
- Climate-controlled interior for year-round operation
- Multiple power outlets, USB charging ports, and integrated communications capabilities.
The Community Outreach Van is ideal for organizations delivering services such as food assistance enrollment, SNAP and Medicaid application support, financial assistance counseling, uninsured medical screenings, prescription assistance, client navigation, education and career readiness programs, health and wellness outreach, and connections to housing and community resources. These mobile services help organizations meet individuals where they are, expanding access to essential care and support for underserved populations.
With more than four decades of experience building purpose-built specialty vehicles, Cabot Coach Builders designs every Community Outreach Van to maximize operational efficiency, client comfort, and long-term reliability. The result is a mobile platform that empowers nonprofits, healthcare systems, municipalities, faith-based organizations, and community agencies to strengthen outreach efforts and deliver meaningful services wherever they are needed most.
